In February, I had the honor of visiting the newly discovered archaeological site along the Western Wall, beneath Wilson’s Arch. There, excavators uncovered several unseen courses of the Western Wall and unearthed an ancient Roman theatre dating back to the period of Roman conquest in Jerusalem. I am excited to see what future archaeological discoveries are made in Jerusalem, as our scientists attempt to piece together the untold histories of our holy city.
