MK Aliza Lavie’s law that would require violent men to wear electronic GPS bracelets was finally approved by the Ministerial Committee for Legislation today.
A year ago, MK Lavie helped pass this law through a preliminary reading, but the bill has not yet been enacted into law. This life-saving bill must be brought to the Knesset table tomorrow. The law can pass in its second and final readings within a week.
As the startup nation, we will surely be able to swiftly deal with the technological challenges posed by creating the electronic bracelet. It a tragedy that 24 women had to pay with their lives for the government to wake up.
